You gotta be kidding me LOL, I lost to Hatshepsut in the LAST TURN by points, literally. Just outta curiosity, I was trying to figure out how I lost. She just kept gaining more points than me, and I was stronger, bigger, more advanced, and wealthier. Is military scored at all? I didn't see any points gained for my power. I coulda wiped her in the last 50 turns...

I know this may bother peaceloving players, but it seems to me that the game has taken an extreme turn toward the opposite end of the spectrum. Civ3 was bad for peacelovers, I admit that. Civ4 favors peacelovers more, and that's fine, too. Heck, the game is pretty darn good IMO. But at least have some sort of notable scoring to account for military.
All I can determine is that you are scored on population, land area, wonders, and technologies. Am I wrong on this?
EDIT: One other thing I forgot to mention is that I always turn off every Victory Condition except Diplo, Dom, and Conquest. The rest of them I have no use for, and so far in Civ4 I've only been able to go for Diplo or Points. I play on a Huge world, so this isn't unexpected.Last edited by Traelin; November 9, 2005, 22:05.

I also lost last night, Mansa Musa completed his spaceship the turn before my #3 city would've reached legendary cultural status. All my own fault, though; I was building a space ship too instead of going all-out for the culture win. Because of my half-assed approach, I couldn't finish the space ship in time either, because it took me too long to research genetics and get the manufacture of the final component on its way.
I suppose Spock is right: if you chase two rabbits, you will lose them both.

That's why I say Fireaxis could include a game option (Raging worlds) where military units would be cheaper.
Usually, I like to play without involving in wars but a fight from time to time may be funny.

The game does give an odds percentage on spy missions. On the same place as where the military odds are displayed.
