  • Huge + Terra + 18 Civs = awesome game

I have longed for a game that can replicate a similar (but not exact) experience of our real history.

I am Greek, and I have my good share of the continent, as do everyone else.
My religion (Judaism) covers 30% of the continent and 2/3 of all of the 18 civilizations, my temple is bringing in a good 30 gold per turn.

I entered the medieval age at about the right time, 500AD+ and am now preparing for an Age of Discovery in about 400 years. (which will make it about 1400AD).

And it's funny (a good funny) how it all works. Most of us have run out of land and want resources, so there is this "need" to find more land.

So what kind of a computer do you have if you can run a Huge Terra map?

how's the speed of the game? is it getting slower as you progress (jerkiness, glitches, etc)?

        my specs:

        AMD64 3000
        128mb GeForce 6600GT (modified 3D1) (sitting on nv4)
        512 ram

game takes about 3 minutes to load, but no slow downs once loaded. I am up to about 1100AD, and the speed is as fast as it was when I started (nice and fast!)

Huge Terras are simply huge size-wise, so RAM would be the biggest problem there, IMO.

Hmmmm...I'm on a similar rig (only big difference if the graphic card - I have a 64 Meg GeForce 2) and I'm getting 5-15 minute waits frequently on huge maps where most of the world is explored. It's ALMOST unplayable but I'm slogging along nonetheless.

                              Lucky guy.
