Crash to Desktop: Support and Debug

Depending on my settings and stuff I've actually been able to get it run for a lot longer now. Crank the graphics down and make sure it's ona small map seems to work better, not good but at least playable.

Yeah, it's not an over heating issue, I've made sure of that. Game is old, my stuff is new, obivously too new just have to deal and do some research next time I buy a game for the PC.

Playing around with the settings i've been able to keep the thing from eating ton of memory which I'm assuming is helping maintain longer game play times.

I have a loading problem with civ 4. After the loading process begins, after the little black rectangle appears, my computer goes back to the desktop screen, instead of the advertising for Fireaxis, and it freezes there. What can I do to solve that problem ?

I have a problem when I tried to load a save game, a box emerge with the text "failed to uncompress game data"

when it press OK it crash to desktop.

I have just reinstalled both CIV4 and windows

what can I do?

Civ4 is truly the worse game I have ever played when it comes to game-log crash's, I had it about a year ago and it always crashed after like 5 hours of gameplay, but now it crash's every 30 minutes. I read through the thread, I always play on huge or large map because it gives me more room to build my civilization, but I am gonna try making a smaller map and see how it goes.

Also when my game crashs me to desktop and I try to reload game it continues to crash me back to desktop no matter what [and always on the same turn as it did the time before]. The furthest ive gotten into the game was 120 A.D on normal mode, epic it only goes to 580 B.C

It also gives me an error report saying the videos are not correctly installed, but ive tried reinstalling 6 times now and reinstalling patchs, I just cleared all information from civ4, deleted cache, cookies, temp files, ran all my anti-virus software and defragged so hopefully it will work on this next re-install :] if not im resorting to smaller maps and those omega drivers ive been hearing so much about.
