great family !
any chance of a screenie of your kid playing?
He is already plotting my downfall but I would hope I can fend him off for a while yet. I have played each iteration since the original Civ (on an Amiga at that time), and eventually could beat the top difficulty on each fairly easily. Based on my one attempt so far Civ IV looks like that might require more than a little luck.
We have started one multiplayer game but have not had the chance to finish it yet. We are at opposite ends of the single continent...I went for my normal 5-6 city patient builder approach, he tells me that he has 11 cities and war elephants roaming the plains looking for me.
I'll see what I can do about a picture, no promises.
Never talk about "40 more turns" or "One more day"
It's "One more turn"
Never think further then that one more turn you will play. I ALWAYS stop playing civ after the next turn
Of course I don't have the intention to play another 5 hours Just that one last turn, that next turn, only that turn needs to be finished
Oh, and I've improved since civ1/civ2/civ3!!
I learned how to give attention to my wife now and then, during playing civ. That expands your quality civ time in the end! It's a little investment to gain more!
I've got more troubles with sleeping, studying and working....
Formerly known as "CyberShy"
Carpe Diem tamen Memento Mori
I went to bed at 3am yesterday night after being crushed by an army of russial cavalry. This morning I woke up at 7am and was so tired that squirted peppermint toothpaste on my eye. Still, played for one hour
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

I have a very supportive family!
My wife loves to play CIV multiplayer on our LAN. We have a great setup in our home office and can play until the early hours!
Our five year old watched us playing last week, we explained what we were doing, and why, throughout the game and he begged to be allowed to play his own game. He proceeded to crush all before him (on settler level of course, tiny map, 2 opponents) winning a domination victory in the late 1700s in his first game, without ever changing his civics or founding a religion. The only help I gave him was to read the occasional difficult word in a pop-up. When summoned for dinner his response was: "Just a minute I need to build another theater to expand my borders!".
He is now totally addicted and especially likes the title screen music, anytime I want to summon him I simply play the MP3 and crank up the volume and he comes running.
Our 4 year old also loves the music and will sit on my lap discussing strategy and history while I play. The running commentary is hysterical..."Look out Daddy there are bad dudes in the jungle".
The biggest plus is that I now have fantastic subject matter for their home schooling. Both kids are totally motivated to read and learn so they can enjoy more CIV! Last week we focused on the basic necessities of early city dwellers and the impact of climate on available food sources. Next week Sun-Tzus art of war...
Life is good.
You sir, are AWESOME. Only person that watches me play civ, are my cats. They like when I scroll really fast. Just got the GLARE of DOOM last night for being on for over an hour.
