  • In-Game Music and Martin Sheen Voice-Over Question

Martin Sheen's voice didn't voice over in my opening movie. And the game itself isn't playing any music so far. Should music be playing from Turn 1? I don't need to put the separate music CD in, do I? I just thought that was for added bonus in the Special Edition. I'd read the manual on this, but I'm stuck at work.

Anybody? I don't mind not hearing Martin Sheen, but the in-game music MUST work. All the audio setting are set correctly, and I get all the sound effects, Leonard Nimoy, etc. Also get music on the Main Menu...just not in-game...but does the music not start until I discover the guitar or something?

Afaik, Sheen only did the trailer. However, you will have Charlie Sheen as modern day luxury advisor.
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

Only the trailer? Wow. Too bad!

That wasn't Martin Sheen to begin with, and his voice never was advertised as being in game. It was supposed to be Leonard Nimoy.

I was Martin Sheen -- that's was Soren said in the chat. As for not being advertised, so what? It's still a good idea.

I found I only get music when I'm at a middle type zoom - if I zoom in too close or out too far, the music fades out. Kind of odd.

You have to invent Music to get full blown background music - or, at least, it took me a while of turns before I started hearing anything. Interesting design choice. But I rather like the ambient sounds in the ancient and how it builds up, so I don't mind. Many will, though. You also get louder music the farther you are zoomed in, as Stuie said.

That's a really interesting design decision.

                        Once you research...music?

Honestly, I have no idea, not sure what to think on this one, on the one hand it's pretty cool, on the other it seems a bit weird.

The music started when I reached into the Medieval Age, I think. There was no music at all in the Ancient Age except diplomatic themes and religious themes. It plays your OWN civilization's diplomatic theme if you zoom in on your capital city (which is probably what you guys were hearing when you zoomed in during the Ancient Age).
