In-Game Music and Martin Sheen Voice-Over Question
I got the full slideshow with Nimoy too, I did a custom game to pick a Civ, started, and then... flabbergastation. I must point out that it did have a considerable pause near the beginning, and I nearly pressed the button that shows up once the game has actually loaded, but I waited, and then the slideshow got really started. *drools*
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!
I can confirm music when zoomed in close in Ancient. Music occurs more often in Classical. Yin, check your music volume setting, perhaps turn up your speaker volume a bit. I adjusted my speakers somewhat.
Friggin' Awesome game, at least in the audio/visual department. I may learn some Latin yet, playing Rome.
Gameplay proficiency for me may take patience (Noble).
It takes a while for him to start talking, so if the map is ready to go (the play button showing) quickly you might miss it. I certainly did the first few times starting up, but then wanted to watch the entire slide show and finally heard Nimoy's narative.
The opening scene takes a minute or so before you hear him talking, can you hear the music?
The ancient music is differen't, its african. Some of it starts off quiet and slow with a man humming and singing in african. Also, it depends what level of zoom you are in. Far away, its quiet but if you zoom in close to a city it changes and gets really loud. I think it depends on something... but I've always had music in one way or another.
Was wondering the same thing. I heard music in the very beginning but not afterwards. I'll zoom in on the capital to see if that works, but it feels a bit weird like this.
The Leonard Nimoy voiceover seems a bit confusing to me. Do you get him in the intro movie right after starting Civ IV or do you get him after you've done all your selections and preferences, right before you start a new game?
I did miss the Nimoy thing: it comes after you launch the game. The progress bar for loading fills up, the message says 'Done', and the button "Play the Game" shows up. It's easy to press that and move on. But if you want the whole Nimoy thing, you have to wait to let that start. A bit kludgy but worth the wait to see it at least once.
I've been on these boards for a long time and I still don't know what to think when it comes to you -- FrantzX, December 21, 2001
