My first Civ game was CtP, so I never got the habit of calling production sheilds.

Having been a faithful player of Civilization since the early days of Civ for DOS, I have to agree that hammers just aren't the same as shields.

Oh sure, I understand that hammers make much more logical sense than shields do, but as people have already pointed out, shields and Civ are as intertwined as peanut butter and jelly.

Oh well, I'm sure that someone will release a hammer/shield mod soon, and I'll be downloading it soon enough.

Yeah, hammers make no sense. Everybody knows you build buildings using shields, not hammers.

                Shields rock.
Just like the town council movies did.

Anyone can come up with Hammers, but Shields was truely thinking outside the box. It's called abstract creative thought, and I LOVE it.
A bad move but it is a detail. Now, if there were no bananas that really would be an outrage.

Yeah. I remember when I was doing woodwork in high school (I have a very long memory) we had to join some bits of wood together to make a footstool. They gave us bits of wood, some nails and some of those big shields (hoplons actully) like the ancient Greek soldiers used. Nothing like great big round shield to bang a nail in. Of course we had a few idiots who reckoned square shields were better.

Hammers seems like a logical change, but those are clearly mallets, not hammers. What is more, the handle is facing the wrong way. Outrageous!
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

The green grass is of the wrong type of shade of green!

I can't buy the game now until we mod this to have a more appealing shade of green for the grass.
