I wouls have t say I love Apolyton, Love Civ and enjoy the reviews you folks put out
However, I am not an expert and this is a game
so ill have CIVIIV,AOEIII & Call of Duty 2 coming this week, all because of the fact I love their varying gamesplays
I enjoy reading the reviews but for real, I made my own decision and will enjoy them
I dont however feel you Markos or Dan have K!$$ed on Firaxis or subverted the system to help sell a product
But nothing wrong in the business world with "Schmoozing" a bit now is their?
Afterall, one hand helps the other...
Of course, not all feel this way and I am single voicing my opinion

I agree with the GT
As far as anyone at apolyton trying to paint a better picture than reality, that's just dumb. If the game is bad but apolyton says that it is good, then they lose their members, apolyton no longer has the base of fans to get information out, and suddenly developers aren't as interested.
I think if there was something seriously wrong with the game, Firaxis would've been informed and fixed it by now.First Master, Banan-Abbot of the Nana-stary, and Arch-Nan of the Order of the Sacred Banana.
Marathon, the reason my friends and I have been playing the same hotseat game since 2006...

in the freaking end, we're sending free copies to Yin and Vel to review the game. we wont have them on release day but it's the best we could do....Co-Founder, Apolyton Civilization Site

Sir, don't take my words as an attack on your honour, but more my inheirant distrust for Corperations. I have no doubt that you may be commited as a fan of the franciase, but the reasons why you needed to get permission to publish do not supercede the fact that you indeed needed permission.
Again, Don't take my words as an attack against you or Apolyton. I don't/wouldn't blame you for the fallacies of companies or their products.
and If I didn't like it here, I wouldn't have wasted so much bloody time talking in the forums.

Seriously, I like the site or I wouldn't have paid for a plus account. I just want to give it a month since public perception changed so much a month after Civ3's release.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

In the end, if the AI isn't very strong, I will be disappointed. Of course, with all the modding ability, even this doesn't seem too bad of an outcome (if such an outcome is even the case). And it should go without saying that Firaxis and I don't exactly have a kissy type relationship!I've been on these boards for a long time and I still don't know what to think when it comes to you -- FrantzX, December 21, 2001

well Yin26, since apprently we could deduce CIVIII wasnt a great game in your eyes, should CIVIV be a good game, would you consider calling this a Firaxis Reach around for putting the you know what to you on CIV III?

I honestly liked Civ2 better then Civ3 though I liked the modded version of CTP2 best of all. Of course that engine is now ancient by the standards of the game world. Civ4 is the future but what makes me most hopeful is the apparent modability of Civ4 so that we will be able to fix the inevitable short comings which will be discovered.
In CTP2 you could literally change EVERYTHING and if Civ4 has a similar system then we'll be able to sand down any rough edges. Like Yin my biggest concern has to do with the AI; it must be up to par though a close second is the stability/ease of use of the multiplayer game.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.
