  • Your Most Anticipated Feature/Improvement?

    I guess mine is obvious:

A much more intelligent system for growth/expansion - one that allows for some strategic thinking! At least that's what seems to be the case.

    What's yours?

Mmm, let's say a worthy AI. (on my play level, mind you )
He who knows others is wise.
He who knows himself is enlightened.

A strong AI (with no cheats - i.e. not knowing where resources etc are.).

          Oh and digestible packaging.

A very capable AI that can't be exploited too easily through diplomacy.

I have so many that it is hard to know where to begin, but how about:

Intelligent city placement (I am right with you on this one, Yin!)
Differential costs for units operating in foreign territory.
Promotions (and the fact that peaceful AND aggressive civs can get them).
              Customisable governments (Civics!)
Strangely enough-the MUSIC (and yes, Leonard Nimoy !)

              Yours,

                1. Balanced city expansion: finding the optimal rate of expansion will be my objective for the first few games. Or rather, understanding the critical parameters which dictate the optimal rate of expansion on different maps and different periods.

                2. Tech tree: taking advantage of the different branches each game.

                3. Playing MP.

There's going to be a lot to take in...

                    1. An intelligent AI that is certainly not exploitable through diplomacy.

                    2. The whole new workings of the diplomatic system.

                    3. Promotions and different units - veeeery exciting combat, finally! And strategic, too.

Those would have to be my three favorite things. I also do like the atmosphere in Civ4, there had been some real attention paid towards polishing the game and making it feel nice.

                      Solver:

Frankly, I think you should play the game for a few hours first before making such assertions.

Perhaps you might need to start thinking about changing your signature...

You're not being negative at all...

A Civ game where you can play it any one of a dozen different ways and still be able to win (as long as you play well) - no need to build cities like crazy or constantly warmonger just to keep up.
