  • Civ 4 Prep Work

I bought a flat screen monitor yesterday, 19 inch, much better resolution than I had previously. Funny, though, I had to put the screen back further because it was just too big! I love it, gives me more room on my desk.

Looking in to getting my video card up graded. Will probably do so on Saturday.

I got a nice new pillow for my chair.

Got a phone charger to put near my computer since the cordless always dies there.

Got a baby monitor to go next to the computer as well, complete with an AC adapter.

Have begun neglecting my wife early, so she doesn't blame the game when I start playing it.

Luckily, I haven't been sleeping much since Josie is up every 4 hours. So, I won't have to change my sleeping patterns. Though, day light savings begins on the 31st so you should have another hour to get in some Civing, within the first week!

Wired cable to my little TV in the basement so I can have football on Sundays.

    Cleaned the trackball.

Begged for next week off work... didn't get it

    that's it so far

So... what have you done in preparation for Oct. 24th?

    Monkey!!!

Well I was planning on still being unemployed when Civ 4 came out, but that didn't work. Damn...

I bought the laptop necessary to play it last year.

I've warned my girlfriend that I might be... uh... a little hard to reach.

There have been multiple months where I ran on only three hours of sleep a night, so I should be good in that department.

              Hm.

I showed my wife the CivAnon video yesterday and told her to begin planning for the worst.

I did however have to promise to get up and go to the bathroom

my civ 4 prep work right now is just figuring out which civ I want to start with.

Usually I start with Rome, but I'm tempted to start with something new.

I've been trying to figure a way around this, but wifey won't change bed pans, and a cathiter just seems over the top.

I generally start with the most brutal, miltaristic type civ, and/or smartest; Persians and Germans last time, but now I'm comfortable with any of them
