  • It is confirmed that those hamlets/towns are terrain improvements

It is confirmed that Hamlets/towns are a terrain improvement like farms and mines, because they are in the terrain improvement list: http://www.jeuxvideo.com/screenshots...3_037_news.htm

Edit: I just noticed another related screenshot: http://www.jeuxvideo.com/screenshots...3_038_news.htm

This screen could mean 2 things:
    a) hamlets grown to towns on themself to villages(and later towns)
    B) a worker bussy upgrading it and it shall take 13 turns(that screen has a worker sellected at the moment)

I think i did read something about this in the preview of GamStar. They said that you can build hamlets as an terrain improvment and that they will grow to villages but not citys.

This isn't the first time I have found out about water improvements for Civ IV, but this just occurred to me -- if workers are still needed to create land improvements, what do we use to make water improvements?

Will we have Jesus workers who can walk on water to make the fishery improvements, and so on?

                Magic Eightball says "Workboat".

Then check one of the worldbuilder screenshots on a gamesite, and take a closer look to the first water unit you see... yes, the one before the galley.

Now, now boys-play nicely or I will just have to turn this car around!
As it happens, there have been a number of videos and screenies which have shown 'Workboats' as an option in the build queue of Coastal cities. So that, as they say, is that!

Oh, on a related topic though-has anyone noticed how pillaging of the fishing boat improvement actually gains the pillager around 5 gold (on AVERAGE). Looks like piracy might become a lucrative strategy in Civ4 after all !
