I had Hotmail from 1998 to earlier this year, but then I finally got tired of that piece of shiit that thing really is.

Yes, but that's why hotmail is perfect for registering, after having registered you don't have to use that account anymore

Not really, your hotmail account is disabled after (I think) 90 days of not using it and completely deleted after a year or so. Works even better of course: don't use it for 4 months or so and let all the spam bounce off after 90 days, so that you have a clean, spam-free account when you enable it again. I rotate 3 addresses myself so I always have at least one more or less spam-free one

And this is coming from a guy who still checks his very first email account every day, which happens to be from hotmail (I've almost had this account for 10 years)

Because often when you register somewhere you have to click on a link and/or enter a code that's sent by email?

Yes, but that email is recieved the same day, so you only have to use the account for one day
