SID MEIER AND CIVILIZATION NOMINATED TO RECEIVE A STAR ON SAN FRANCISCO'S "WALK OF GAME" AT METREON
Hunt Valley, Maryland – October 3, 2005 – Firaxis Games announced today that Sid Meier, Partner and Director of Creative Development, along with their hallmark title, Civilization, have both been officially nominated for a commemorative star on Walk of Game, in 2006. Located at Metreon in the heart of downtown San Francisco, Walk of Game is the first-of-its-kind landmark dedicated to honoring the icons and pioneers of the interactive entertainment industry.
Throughout the month of October 2005, gamers worldwide are encouraged to cast their votes once a day for both Sid Meier and Civilization at www.WalkofGame.com. These votes will ensure that Sid and CIV receive a permanent customized steel star on "The Walk" to immortalize their impact on the video game industry. Winners will be announced in November 2005.
