  • 100% Greek? Wha?

Yeah, dont know if you fellas realized that in several pics there is on the left side down a label that says NN% Nation, eg 100% Greek or 76% German.

Does anyone know what is this for and its effects?
    Owww, I'm so cute! ^_^

Not sure, but if I'm Apolyton Management I'd be suing for trademark infringement. 100% Greek is the Poly slogan.

It's culture flipping, if the other civilization reaches a certain % of influence over your city, it flips to the other civilization. ie, if Hamburg has 38% German, 8% english and 54% french influence, it will become a French city.

Surely you don't have to be afraid of receiving a post-count reduction.

On topic: IIRC, cultural flips have been removed from Civ4. I guess that 54% influence from a single foreign culture will result in a lot of unhappiness - up to the point where it is more profitable to trade the affected city away for money and/or techs than to keep it and keep pumping money into it.

With that difference that cities aren't supposed to 'flip over' anymore... but tiles can.

culture flipping is not 100% out. but it's more rare. more often your city will go into revolt

And while city flipping from Civ3 has been removed from the game, a similar mechanism still exists. As Borders expand close to rival Cities, the Citizens in that City will become more and more unhappy -- they want to join the more cultured Civilization. Eventually the City will become so inefficient to maintain and such a burden for the owner that (s)he would be better off giving it away through diplomacy. If (s)he doesn't do so, (s)he even risks the city going into revolt.
This is what your link says: culture flipping is out.
