New ladder for civ4

How very annoying - I just realized this isn't the Civ4Players ladder, it's another imitator ladder set up by people trying to compete with Civ4Players. Be warned, folks- that's not the genuine article. The real one is set to invitation only (though getting an invite is as simple as asking) to prevent people from spamming multiple accounts and cooking games... something the members of this impostor ladder are going to find out the hard way, quickly.

Uhm, imposter? With all due respect for you guys, but you don't have a monopoly on ladders. You don't see us calling CFC imposters do you? (Well, not publically anyway )

- apolyton has AU, great PBEMs, lots of DG stuff, etc
- civfanatics are "better" with their competitive GotM series and their unit creationism (they are actually still pumping out new units, 4 years after civ3 came out )
but both sites are pretty bland regarding real-time MP.

You are quit right, anyone is free to setup a ladder, on Cases or some other service. But what F-P is refering too is that these individuals are trying to make themselves look like they are the next evolution of the original Civ community ladder, Civ3players. Something which is not true. They are just riding on 3 years of our hard work. So you will have to excuse us if we(Civ3/Civ4players staff) act to educate the Civ community as a whole and protect our intellectual property. You are free ofcourse to join any ladder you want too.

I don't see them doing that but I'm not really paying attention so I guess I could be missing it.

Since we had to have one ladder deleted by Cases because they stole "civ4players" in there URL before we used it, in violation of the Cases TOS, we have to wait a couple more days to get it completely removed and then we will register that URL and move on with our plans to conquer the world :-P
