    New ladder for civ4

    This is the new ladder-page for civilization 4. If you sign in (for free) on this webpage, you can compete against other civ4 players for the nr.1 ranking, take part in tournaments etc , totally free. If you play outside the ladder you can risk others just leaving the game before it is finish and if you win no one will remember your victory. But if you are member of the league, all you win against will have to report theire loss to you on this page, or else they will not continue to be a member them self. So if you want to double your fun with civ4 when its released, sign in - for free - on this excellent ladder page:

    Sounds interesting, I might check this out after Civ 4 is released.

        I don't know why this post pushed the wrong buttons of mine, but; you are clearly in the wrong here and, to boot, just downright rude - and in the process of doing so, you display your own ignorance.

          I'm sure Apolyton will have plenty of cIV tournaments, I doubt we'll need to go to another site to have a competition.

            Apolyton is the place to go for Demogames, and probably has a large proportion of all of the PBEMs played, but the ladder is the place to go to play MP. Put it down to the ranking system, or something, but more people played MP there than ever played MP here...

                The last part being the understatement of the year. In the CIVIII ladder world, I would say there are about as many CIV III geeks there as there are here. Thats just the CIV III crowd though. I haven't been active in the ladder in years, and I never was very active (not enough time) but the couple of games I did play I had a good time. With supposedly playing CIV IV not taking as much time as CIV III, it might be worth a look.

                  H-Tower, I like to think of Apolyton and Civ4Players as "sister" sites. Some folks here know it, some don't - I was "raised" on Apolyton before I helped WarningU2 found CivXPlayers. Since then, the people who have carried on CivXPlayers have, for the most part, all been Apolytoners who just never felt quite "at home" here. You might argue that CIVXPlayers (we have Civ3Players and Civ4Players now) are semi-descendants of Apolyton. Some Ladderites might disagree by now - we're as proud of our realm as Apolyton rightfully is of its own - but there's definitely a shared heritage.

                  If you want SP competitive tournaments or Demogames, or just SP game strategy and theory, it's true - Apolyton is absolutely the place to be. If you want a MP game right now or a long-running MP tournament that starts pretty much anytime... that's us.

                  Tiwaz, as you might imagine, is one such "Ladderite." Think of us as your weird cousins - mostly harmless, infinitely weird, but actually quite friendly. At last check I think there are 800-900 active players this week on the ladder. Pssst...where do you think the "Dark Side" that Con went to is...?

                          I dont know about tournaments outside myleague.com, but i have heard that myleague.com offers the best pages for this pourpose with no cost for admins or users. The statistics are very detailed and almost totally automated. You can see how many times you have won and lost, the % or these two, how many with better rank you have played, your win streak (amount of wins without a loss) and your skill level compared to other ladder-players. These statistics are a very accurate way of telling who is the best player.

                          I hope i will have the opportunity to play with you guys here, when civ4 is starting.

                              Is this the same ladder F-P is going to be a part of?

                              I dont know Tiwaz but I just want to make sure this isn't a "badger" thing. (F-P, and C-S know what I mean)
