CIV Multiplayer: A second chance?

As is explained in a few public reveiws, "pitboss" is a "Persistant turn-based server" basically an always on PBEM game that doesn't need people to email saves. More details than this have not really been published, but it was published that this will be added after the initial release unfortunately.

We will support(as we always have) any and all variants of MP games, be they "realtime" games or PBEM or Pitboss. The software we use at Cases doesn't care in the least what game it is let along what style :-P We welcome all MPers and even at Civ3players we have a vibrant active PBEM section, and we plan on continuing this support to all types of MP games at Civ4players.

No. MP for civ3 was ... weak here. PBEM boomed.
Cross fertilization. Poly and the Ladder combine forces. You have what Poly lacks, discipline and ranking. Poly has traffic and a lot of people working on strat and figuring out mechanics to the last farthing.
Seems that some cooperation would benefit both.(\__/)

Well we do have our our Ladder forums for MP and ladder specific expertise, I'm sure that if poly would like us to offer that expetise to this community(which we did in a small fashion in the MP tournaments that were tried) that we would gladly do that, the best way to build on each others strengths ofcourse would be the topic of detailed discussions.

and the automatic game forwarding: i was thinking of programming something like that for civ3 - of course without the turn playing part- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity
