Actually, my older daughter (6 yrs) loves to play D&D hack and slash games with me. It's hilarious. She could pound monsters for hours.

Civ though? No fun for her at all, though when I was playing Ages of Man she'd periodically come by and say: "Daddy, make that horsie go kill that guy with the bownarrow."

This reminds me of an article by Brad Wardell about his kid playing WoW and mercilessly killing monsters because they killed some innocent rabbit. Or wandering around and giving goodies to other players

Yeah, 6 is just too young for civ, especially for a girl- they don't seem to conceptualize in the same way as boys... but if she's a daddy's girl she'll come around to more sophisticated things soon enough. I'm glad I have a daddy's girl- there's no other kind to have, IMO.

This is a most disturbing thread.

                For real.

At least they've moved beyond making their "Civ in bed" analogies...

My 13 and 14 year old do pretty well in CIV, I play LAN with them all the time.

These ads are meant to be funny. If you have kids and spend so much time playing it that you feel guilty about not spending time with your kids, then YOU have a problem.

                      Try CIV ANON

That's not true. He was never on 'Poly when he was 10.
