My daughter just turned 3, I sure hope I will be able to pass on the civ hype someday 
I might even get my wife to play civ again (she only played CTP), just for that I think it's good that they try to make Civ more accessible to casual players!
...and the CivAnon campaign is really quite cool, even if the website itself could use some more content.
