I could make them, infact, I have been thinking of actually attempting Civ1 graphics on Civ4 (coz it would be really easy to do and fun to have)

My biggest thing is scale, if possible. I understand that the units on the RTW screen also tower over cities, etc., but for some reason a similar approach in Civ is too jarring. Perhaps it's because cities now are actually organic things in Civ 4, or perhaps it's because the map in Civ (since Civ 3 anyway) has resources to capture, etc. So, brining some unit v. city scale to this is a first step.
Then there's unit v unit scale, which is perhaps even more jarring. Three knights (in the unit group) are almost twice the size of an attack helicopter! Man, this really ruins a person's ability to suspend disbelief.
Well, those are some basic issues, but here's a funny spin on the Civ 1 graphics idea (this would take too much work and shouldn't be done instead of more important things): Graphics that improve through the ages. So the early eras could have Civ 1 graphics, then Civ 2, then Civ 3, then Civ 4. Again, pure novelty stuff just for kicks one day.
Scale, though. Scale!

Here's another (when time is abundant) idea: Units that show damage. I'd love that!
I think they have this already - in one of the videos, a damaged horseman had only one horse and rider, as opposed to the three of the healthy version.

I certainly saw that the number of units in the group dropped, but do the remaining units show damage? Or does each unit show damage as it takes hits? I didn't see this, though it's hard to tell in the video.
