That's the news we are looking for

It seems like these great people do give new depts to the game. you have to make choises, will I either have all my citizen work the tiles, or will I save some to work for great people points? That does have concequences on your entire strategy. it's not just an isoluted thing that doesn't influence the other parts of the game.Formerly known as "CyberShy"

My daily dose! My remedy!
Ahhh... Feel better now!
OTOH...
...over two years now...?...
The Firaxis team has been playing Civ IV for over two years now, and we're all really happy with the new level of depth the Great People feature brings to the game.

Sounds like a very good addition. Seems that they are going to be pretty strategic of a choice, in two ways - one is how you produce them, and second is how to use them. Use a Great Merchant for getting a heap of money, discovering a technology, or keep him until you get another person for a Golden Age? Choices are what make a strategy game!Solver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator

Well, if Firaxis team really prove to be unable to balance it after a couple of years, then they deserve to be hit on the head with a "very laaaarge" hammer (not the substitute of shield for production level, but the real tool of a workerOriginally posted by Senethro
Prediction: A 2x2 ICS or messy 1x1 ICS with terraforming emphasising nutrients to enable 50/50 worker/specialist bases that double up as Great Leader farms.
I'm so going to save this post and quote it come 6 months when I'm proved right.

But I feel a little more positive.
"We are reducing all the complexity of billions of people over 6000 years into a Civ box. Let me say: That's not only a PkZip effort....it's a real 'picture to Jpeg heavy loss in translation' kind of thing."
