  • What is the fastest possible way to get CivIV?

I'm flying to the Philippines Dec 4 and I absolutely MUST have a copy with me.

    Ideas?

Just buy it when it comes out. If the date is at all accurate, you'll have time.

I'd say retail stores are usually fastest/most reliable anyway

he lives in a small town in the philappines, that may not be possible.

I'd fly to Thailand and get a pirated copy.

Manila would probably have it. that may be cheaper to fly (or can you take a boat to it) to.

From what I've heard from a friend, it's not like it used to be.

That reminds me, is Firaxis going to release Civ4 worldwide on the same day?

If they don't... they better not complain and whinge if they lose sales.

LOTS of people won't wait to play what America can play months before the rest of the world can.

                Climb into a time machine.

Fly to one point in time after Dec. 4. 2005,
preferably at some spatial location near a large game store.
                Buy the game.
                Fly back to now.

And of course, don´t forget to buy and bring back a second copy of Civ IV for myself.

                  Or even better:

Buy an extra copy and go back to 2001 and give it to Firaxis.

Then we'd be on cIV by now and having the same discussion about ciV.
                    Hehe....burr.

No, we'd have a very good Civ3. And have a c0ompletely different discussion about Civ4.

Good point, unless cIV turns out to be a pile of poo (gods willing it won't), in which case we would be having this same discussion.

                          WTF:
                          1) go back to 2001, sell it to Brian or any Firaxis's competitor, reverse engineer it and rename it as "Time of Civilizations" (sort of)
                          2) enjoy the large pile of money you make, living in a great place of your choice...

3)And everyone would have to wait several years to play it because the hardware requirements would be too hefty

If you did manage to go back to 2001, you wouldn't be able to play it anyway, as not many people (apart from the rich ones) back then had the specs to run games this advanced. So in fact the game would lose alot of it's qualities as it would be dumbed down for a 2001 audience.

EDIT: I hate when you post the same thing at the same time as someone else. Ah, well.
