This is no problem, you just buy a good machine together with the game, and bring that one too.

to answer his question, i'd say: get a job working for a magazine that has high standards and only reviews final builds of games, and become a game reviewer for however long it takes to get a copy.

barring that, i'd say terrorism seems to be a trendy fad to get what you want.

Exactly! Better than this, you can buy *two* good machine and sell the spare one to AMD or INTEL.
They can't have the 90nm production process ready in 2001, still they can save lot of R&D, IMHO, and pay good money for this. Anyone remember the movie "Terminator"?

And BTW, no software publisher ever let game performance to stop them publishing a game.

the fastest way would be to download it off of usenet a few days before it is released
To us, it is the BEAST.

Since time machines haven't been invented...I guess I'll go with buying it at the store. Maybe I'll reserve a copy.

Couldn't your future you just use a time machine to go back in time and give your present you Civ4 (with all expansions of course) and then he goes back to the future?
This space is empty... or is it?

My future me is sitting on a beach in the Phils with a bottle of rum and a blender, and couldn't be arsed to fart let alone time travel.

time travel is impossible, so this discussion isn't very realistic.

Actually science community is still out for the verdict.

There is some hope for an early Civ IV (if time patrol police don't bring us in prison for this!

if one was to circle the globe (left to right) crossing the international time line (once a day) you would always be on the same day

..same as time travel, just not going backwards

I reserved a copy at a local store, cost $5 to do so. Now, if only it really comes out November 15 or before...
