I am now fond of the unit scaling.
I'm happy someone likes it. I think those big units, in 3D thus hard to mod or make new ones, are ugly and when I see three giant soldiers towering on top of a city, I can't help think of Lilliput. I'll rename my capital Mildendo and Mali to Blefuscu, and the religions to Big-Endian and Little-Endian. This way, some feeling of realism might be achieved.

new info for me. Though I haven't been looking at any of the previews so far. I prefer to go into a game relatively fresh. I haven't even been posting here until lately. I should wait until November, but I admit I'm getting kind of excited.

Religion looks interesting. Nothing too major, which I like. But adds enough to the gameplay to make it worthwhile and something different to do in the game other than build and wage war.

as for some of those screen shots. Wow. It will take getting used to. I really wasn't expecting the game to look that different. I'm so used to a top down view. Are those screen shots the normal view? or some weird zoomed in view? Not that they are bad. I'm sure I'll get used to them.

I think it's a weird zoomed view, to show you the maximal level of detail. Some people may want to play with this view (the types who want maximal immersion), but I think most players will prefer the classic Civ2 aerial view or Civ1 bird view.

Is this civ4 or roller coaster tycoon?

Guess they don't want to animate everything.

Wow, but it would be fun!
Your unit (train ) is coming at almost the speed of light and suddenly, after the curve, hits the tree...

              Very amusing.

I think it would be fun to just look around my empire from the close-in view from time to time.

Kuciwalker is pretty right, and a lot of Apolytoners will do the same. I know I'll do.

Especially the parts being conquered liberated, especially while it happens.

An object with the mass of a train engine hitting a tree at the speed of light would cause an explosion so big it would make the planet look like a crescent moon.
