the Lion Gate (of Mycenae), Greece
    Travels of Abraham, Hebrews
    Ruins of Sanxingdui, China
    the Sphinx
    Hammurabi's Code
    Palace of the Yellow Emperor
    Royal Tombs, Anyang
    the Temple of Solomon
    Dar Kurizgalu (Kassite Capital)
    the Sea Peoples
Temple of the Goddess, Catal Huyuk
    Abu Simbel
    Hanging Gardens
    Trojan Horse
    Ebla Tablets
Archives of the King of Mari
    Harappa Citadel
    Agriculture of Shen Nong

    Sacred Temple of Amon-ra, Karnak

I'm working on compiling city lists, technological advances, wonders, unique unit ideas, etc.

Any suggestions are most certainly welcome. Please?

How about tossing in a theoretical Atlantis as well?

Interesting idea. I'm always more enthusiastic about scenarios that focus on building a civilization than about war scenarios

OTOH, since Civ traditionally doesn't represent the archaic era very well, there are a few challenges that appear, and that you may want to tackle:
            1. The spread of mankind. Basically in Civ, mankind can be found only where the Civs start, and the Civs are the ones responsible for settling the world. However, once a Civ creates a city, the city is firmly in the hands of its creator. I'm not an expert, but I don't think it happened like that in the archaic era: new settlements (at least those far from the centre) took their independance, and the established empires actually unificated many small kingdoms into their culture. I really like the way you divided China

Another problem with the Civ engine is exploration. Since the worldmap shouldn't be too big, the Civs can explore like crazy, and you could well have Greeks that trade techs directly with the Chinese. Do you have ideas on how to seriously restrict exploration? Maybe a handy number of Barbarians in "barrier" regions would help.

Another thing is the role of the mediterranean trade, and the relative unattractiveness of Northern Europe. Maybe the Mediterranean arc should be chock-full of resources (in comparison to Europe's, at least), and maybe you could mod the rules so that irrigation on European tiles produce less food than irrigation on mediterranean ones.

The last thing is about the barriers not to exploration, but to colonization. In particular, Africa could end up being full of Nubian towns. Maybe you should mod many terrains so that they don't even allow for the passage of settlers. The African jungle could be a good barrier to the Nubians then, Siberia wouldn't be a passage between Europe and Asia, etc.

I am not sure an archaic scenario should feature all these civs or play on a world map. Something bigger than Kull's Seeds of Greatness could be ok (the Mediteranean and up to India), but including Mesoamericans? Fertile crescent civs and americans won't meet in hte Archaic period.
And the Tuatha De Danaan are probably better replaced by celts, the Tuatha De being the name of the old Irsh gods.

Many of the civilizations in your list were considered refugees from a fallen Atlantis.

And shouldn't Atlantis predate 3000 BC?

Pretty much. The refugees then gradually lose contact with each other and what technology they had. This would then bring us up to the scenario start.

It is theorized that the Tuatha De were deified heroes from a previous civ that the Irish supplanted. Demigods = legendary past heroes...?

And I'd need a really large map in order to do this...

Yeah the idea was that by the end of the game, one faction wouldv'e achieved dominance in each area

(ex. Sumer, Akkad, Elam, Mitanni coallesce into Assyro-Babylonia; Upper and Lower Egypt and part of Nubia make the Old Kingdom, etc.)
