Has anyone ever heard of a Hindu missionary? A Jewish missionary?

What, pray tell, is an Islamic monestary?

Does Firaxis lack the ability to crack a Religious Studies 101 book?

Please rename some of this stuff, guys.

Jewish proselytism competed with Christian proselytism in the 100 years or so between the traditional date of Jesus's birth and the Bar Kokhva revolt, after which Jewish proselytization was officially banned by the Roman empire. The rabbis eventually decided that active attempts at conversion were not desirable sometime during the writing of the Talmud. I cannot say with authority that Hindu missionaries did not exist, but certainly the existence of Buddhist missionaries would hint that they were not entirely unheard of in the subcontinent.

As for Muslim monasteries, the Assassins can be considered in some ways a monastic sect. And anyway, even if Islamic monasticism is not necessarily like Buddhist or Christian monasticism, similar ascetic sects did exist that are comparable.

It's just (religious adjective) missionary/monastary/religious thing.

For that matter, has anyone heard of a Babylonian Tank?

That's an abstract part of the game. Whereas historical accurracy could be applied to religion in the game, such as it being an Islamic Mosque (not Monastary). Not a big deal all in all, but it would be more appropriate to make it accurrate.
However, it is difficult to believe that 2 times 2 does not equal 4; does that make it true? On the other hand, is it really so difficult simply to accept everything that one has been brought up on and that has gradually struck deep roots – what is considered truth in the circle of moreover, really comforts and elevates man? Is that more difficult than to strike new paths, fighting the habitual, experiencing the insecurity of independence and the frequent wavering of one’s feelings and even one’s conscience, proceeding often without any consolation, but ever with the eternal goal of the true, the beautiful, and the good? - F.N.

I think the term was the same for each religion - monastery, temple, missionary, prophet, etc.

I would prefer, in this instance, if Firaxis made it religion-specific for each term. But again I'm not going to be bothered if they don't.

                I call that a Mosque.

By the way, is there an Islamic Cathedral? That'll piss off any Muslim...

I would like that too (though it might take a game or two to get used to some of the more unfamiliar terms).

That shouldn't be too hard to do.

This religion thing is getting ridiculous!

                            - You complain that religion is too individually identified (by using real-world religious names) and want some generic transparency in religion so no one religion is more powerful or individually identified from another.
                            - You then complain about the generic transparency (generic names for missionarys, generic names for monastarys, etc) and want some individualism in the religions.

MAKE UP YA BLOODY MINDS! You can't have it both ways.

They may yet come to regret placing real world religion in the game.
