I'd like to hear an answer to that as well."And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961

tried to teach my gf how to play civ- sadly she's not the patient type so now she's stuck with WC3 ^^
won't complain tho having a gf that likes to play computer games is a blast, they are so much more understanding and tolerate the occasional outbreaks of civaddiction :P
@topic: some modder will implement it again, for sure. So I don't lose sleep over my precious t-attacks

My wife played CTP2 a lot, she preferred it over Civ because she didn't have to micromanage all those workers... I think Civ4 may very well turn the tide - I'd love to play a few multiplayer games with her
Oh - and regarding terrorism I guess it's a matter of taste and pragmatism... if there's an option to kill all children in a city and I don't condone that kind of action, I don't have to use it. On the other hand, I don't think that would be a good selling argument either so I guess Firaxis simply went the politically correct way to avoid offending people. Honestly I couldn't care less, I never used those options anyway - I prefer bashing in some heads directly.
...just a thought: what about espionage missions that you actually have to conduct yourself? Like stealing the enemy's battle plans: it would be a 'Thief'-like subgame where you have to get past the guards to get to the battle plans That would make the espionage part a lot more interesting!Last edited by AeonOfTime; June 21, 2005, 06:18."Give me a soft, green mushroom and I'll rule the world!" - TheArgh

it is to bad the removed it...i liked the steal tech options in civ and the kidnap scientists in smax...the same with framing other people for your actions...i hope that in the dimplo/spy actions there is still that option...and i seriously need a creditcard to buy a lot of t-shirtsBunnies!

Does it really matter what it's called? The best unit IMHO for terroristic/espionage/etc activities was the probe team from SMAC. I always loved the ability to frame another faction. I also kinda liked the 'spy' from Civ2, best way around SDI's was to send in a spy with a nuke.
As for terorist groups, I suppose that could be simulated by 1 or more cities owned by a splinter group that sends out 'probe teams' (or whatever the Civ4 equivalent would be) to destabilize other cities, and trying to frame others for it. For added realism, they might only target civs with a specific religion or social value. There could even be diplomatic repercussions to having terrorists operating from within your borders.
