It should disproportionately affect the city's and country's economy- the main effect of terrorism in Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom.
Certainly the beautiful landscapes and historic townscapes of Northern Ireland suffered grievously from a lack of investment and tourists and (under)development of infrastructure until the Good Friday peace accord which bropught a brief glimmer of hope.
Corruption is a spin-off, but then links between criminal subcultures and both sets of paramilitary groups in Northern Ireland seem to be a given now.
