        • Finally, check out the top-left corner of the one screenie with the game in it... Just below the money indicator. Obviously you can adjust science / culture spending there, without drilling into any menus.



          That's about all the interesting info I was able to extract from the videos. That should be enough work for Locutus to incorporate into the info thread though.

          • those videos are great. The graphics in civ4 look sweat. If the concepts like religion and civics are implemented right, this game is going to rock!

            • Wow, vovan, you're eye-sight is clearly better than mine, I can't read most of the stuff in those images. I don't suppose you (or anyone else who can read the text) are willing to have a swing at the tech tree?

                  Well, the fact of the matter is, I had to shrink the images some to post them. When they are blown up to full screen on the video player, you can more easily tell what it says. The problem with the tech tree is, they don't have it in the high quality videos and the long one is too fuzzy to tell what the techs are...

Not the full game, I'm sure: the graphics engine and network code and stuff like that probably won't be included (Gamebryo is a licensed product so Firaxis couldn't release that code if they wanted to), but as long as Firaxis keeps supporting the game (as opposed to what Activision did) that's not the sort of code fans will want to change anyway. But IF the entire core of the game itself is exposed (big if, but that *is* what it sounds like), the possibilities are literally endless...

                        Oh, okay. Well, thanks a ton for posting the stuff that *was* readable anyway, even with the HD-videos in full-screen I can still barely read what they say...

                            • I tell you what I'm liking the most is the "Promotinos" concept in cIV.

                              Instead of the simple Conscript - Regular - Veteren - Elite

                              we are getting a variety of "upgrades" that create a different texture of units combining into an army. That seems to hold a lot of promise and interest on my part.

                                Ehhh... I highly doubt that... The most I have hopes for is some header files to define the APIs. I highliy doubt they will release actual source files.
