You definitely need a choice that can be picked by someone who wants "none of the above" for national or personal reasons. Its a better choice than "jedi"

    Civerdan:
I dont mind taking out the last 150 turns. For SP, these last 150 turns are simply a milk fest.
Some of the most memorable games I've played have been when I was new to the game (in each new edition) and unable/unwilling to rush to an early victory. The space construction and modern warfare can be great fun as long as its not a one horse race. My first Civ 3 game was a case in point, with my victory only coming because the other advanced powers started a 3 way fight which stopped the French space program in its tracks.

Its easy to forget that some players get those sorts of games a lot when you're an expert who can predict victory by who is leading at the end of the medieval period. Hopefully Civ4 can go further toward disrupting that kind of inevitability.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

Hopefully, there will eventually be a kind of 'belief-system' or 'ethos-maker' that would help us to define our civ and add that little bit of extra RPG.

          The graphics look awfully cartoonish

Those are the oldest screenshots known (they are actually probably close to a year old by now: they were published in November/December and magazine screenshots tend to be at least a few months old). The few newer screenshots that are circulating via email look much, much better (see the Game Informer thread). They still do look a bit cartoonish though, but it's not like Civ graphics ever looked very realistic so that shouldn't come as a shock...
