I once landed, stole land with my second city about twenty turns in and got immediately attacked for it and wiped out. It was unpleasant.

I'm sure the mod experts could come up with a random city-states attck algorithmn.

Just got attacked by indians the first time, by the Aztecs, very early in my 4th game.

It was a fun surprise, after a few turns where I wasnt sure Id survive at all.

I never fought in my previous games until after declaring independence. I think this game I'll benefit from having a few seasoned troops at the start of the revolution.

My indian allies rarely attack my King's forces. They're more likely to BE attacked

I read in another thread that apparently an Indian settlement can culture flip. This is just ridiculous. Instead of a culture flip, maybe this could trigger a city-state attack.

Does sending missions into a settlement (can you send more than one?) help win the Indians over in general does anyone know?

Additionally, I did get the other colonial powers to go to war, but they prefer to avoid it, which is wise as a strategy. Everyone have similar experiences?
In orginal COL, each indian village was an independent entity and not bound to orders from a single ruler.
Thus if you angered a certain village, then the resident of that specific village could attack you whitout the need of the entire indian nation beeing angry or go to war with you.

They copied the CIV4 diplomacy into this new col resulting in that natives only may declare a full-blown war.
Just like in Civ, the declaration of war then again do not always correlate with the relation of the natitve tribe - even an happy tribe may attack you while an unhappy one might choose not to attack.

I liked to orginal COL better regarding native behaeviour.

              even mean anything?
