    Hello All,

Every time I try to start a custum Western Hemisphere Huge scenario as Washington, I end up at the bottom. I can never start at the top, in New England. If I go into the Worldbuilder and move the units then I lose my pioneer.

    Any ideas?

I don't have the game yet, but my gut instinct says go into worldbuilder, change the starting location, and then save it (as a WorldBuilderSave) - then load the WBS as a new scenario. That should re-populate the starting units.

I'll try that, but the problem is that while you can change the AI script, it doesn't add the tools back. Do you think it will fix them?

In regards to the OP's problem of the same placement each game, I'm actually working on fixing that in AoDII. So watch my mod as it'll fix it soon.

And yes, it pisses me off how it does this too.

Is it hardcoded in ??? I'm fairly sure this is not an issue in Civ4 (and BtS etc.) ...

Nah it's to do with working out the score of your starting location. There's no randomness, it'll always be the same value.

Sounds like "hardcoded" to me ...

well, i took a look at the original file, the scenario does not specify starting location, even though England starts in S. America.

I took one of my games, entered the worldbuilder and saved the map. It worked in notepad to move things around, just be sure to copy the moved items exactly.

Oh, the starting cities for the natives and there are alot of them are pretty random a long with the civs themselves. like the Tupi in N. America and being tobacco planters.

Do I miss something, but you start with the boat right? In my game I started near the equator, so if I moved my ship diagonally to the north, my first city would be in northern hemisphere...
