Why did people vote for him? What plan does he have to solve the HUGE budget problem, or a way he will deal with a solidly Democratic legistlature? All he said, in both debates and sound bites, was critism and blame for the past.

People keep going on and on about detailed plans. McClintock's plans weren't that detailed.

And it seems a bit early. There are a few million absentee ballots cast.

Diss, of all the candidates, only McClintock had ANY plans. And while he didn't offer those detalied plans in debates (like he would have had the time with a moderator telling him he has 30 secs), he did ask voters to go to his website where they could find the details.

I think that's the one where it says the goverment can't collect information about minorities. well they can collect information, but they aren't supposed to collect the fact that they are a minority.

Anyway, I think this was a good thing. Turnout was very heavy, so a large majority of registered voters expressed their opinion on the matter. There's no better occurence in a democracy.

Electing someone who has NO PLAN at all and has only been able to spit out rhetoric is not the way to go

In fact, a poll says 62 percent of Californians think Arnold didn't address the issues...Yet they turn around and vote for him anyway!!!

I am officially bitter. Because now this means i can't move to California.

It is kind of sad that the candidate with the most money and thusly the most exposure wins the election.

It would be nice if people looked into the issues more.

but that's democracy in action. you can't force people to pay more attention to politics.

I'm not sure why more celebrities don't get into politics. Arnold automatically got more news coverage just by being a big celebrity. Hell even Gary Coleman got more coverage than Bustamante

why would you move to california? It has been a shithole since the 80's. I visit there all the time- in fact I'm going there next week. But I have no desire to live there.

One of the good things is that Schwarzenegger will apparently get at least 50% of the vote. If he would have gotten a smaller percentage, then you would have had to give Davis his day in court.

Trust me, the courts won't want to get in the middle of this. The only reason they got in the middle of Bush v. Gore was because of a potential constitutional crisis.

Considering that they're using exit polls and 9 percent of precincts reporting, that's a bit early.

And yes, there will be legal issues, and the law is vague as to exactly when and how the turnover occurs.
