Bad news. Holy Rome (Germany) contacted me and said the game was stupidly unbalanced, left and gave me all his cities. I have written a story that covers it, but I suspect this will spark a debate on what to do next, personally I don't mind at all having my empire size doubled, but there may be those who do...

Wow that is hardly a mature response. I don't like this game so I'm going to ruin it for everyone else.Can we rollback so that Holy Rome is back in the game? We can look for a sub, or make it AI. Did he build the Apostolic Palace? If he did we could rename it the Papal States and make it the christian church or something.

PM to Toni requesting password has been sent.
Mod has been downloaded with no apparent issues when I start the game with it.
No response yet from Toni about the password and I am off to bed. I will check again in the morning but after that I'm off to work so it maybe 20 hours from now before I can play so that pause will likely be needed.
On the plus side, this allowed me to play the turn that I missed.And seriously, what's his problem? I started out with tiny Vietnam with no land improvements, hardly anything in my two little cities (one of them has stink clouds over it), a puny army that can barely hold against Mongolia, and I'm still enjoying myself! I don't care if I'm not going to be a major power, I can do so much more in a diplogame than I can in a single player game because I'm interacting with real people. It's all a matter of perspective.
Hm... I think someone needs to review his geography...

well, his main comment was that if anyone was to challenge the Byzantine empire who now has 8 cities, including a very valuable holy city, some civ would have to be equally large, thus he gifted me his cities. He does sort of have a point though. With a defenceless Arab empire the Byzantine empire has had a huge advantage. It is now more than twice the size of all other nations.

Perhaps he should instead have been focusing on expanding his own empire. Take out the Vikings, get Danzig, take Sicily (I don't know how you took that instead of Germany) and he's got more then enough cities. But whatever, Exploit is up to the task.

I went in and paused the game. I let the server folks know to reset the pass or kick HRE to AI.

Hmm, I found a post another thread about having to use the BTS319 patch from Apolyton to not get the version mismatch error so I reinstalled BTS with that patch however when I went to test it out by joining the game I see that the game server seems to have crashed after Asoka logged in. Hopefully the crash had nothing to do with my version mismatch. I'll try again later.
PYT shows the server is not connected.
Ok, the game is up again. One hour on the clock. I just logged in and saw that the game was still paused, so I unpaused it. PYT seems to be showing a different game, I'll get them to fix it.

I am continuing to have difficulties fixing my issues (mostly due to the lack of time to fix them). Kenshin (who is also subbing for me until I get my act in order) mentioned he fixed them by simply transferring the mod to the MOD folder in the files (As compared to the documents) however when I did that it came up with the same problem other people were getting...
Is there anything else people suggest (apart from reinstalling windows which I won't do) I try? Otherwise if it persists too long I may just give my glorious Russian Rodina to Kenshin permanantly (and skip on the proxy directions) or to anyone else who would be interested in this game and who likes vodka.
the mod folder must NOT be in the documents folder.

As said above, put in the folder not in my documents. Also, Idk about everyone else but I have to load the mod before trying to join the game.

That is perfectly normal if you dont make a special shortcut to , which says in its "Target" property for example:
"D:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod="mods\Destruction of foes"
Change "Destruction of foes" with the exact name of the mod for DoE2 and you can start Civ with preloaded DoE2 mod
