Yeah, so far what seems to work is deleting your cache (located at:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\My Games\Beyond the Sword\cache)
Make sure all players do this.

Luckily I just explained this to someone else:
Yes, I believe it's hidden by default. What you need to do:
In My Computer view, click on "Tools" in the menu at the top. Select "Folder Options" which will open a new window. Select "View" from the tabs at the top. Under "Advanced Settings" you'll see a bunch of buttons. You'll have one checked which is "Do not show hidden files and folders". Check the button underneath that "Show hidden files and folders". Then click on the "OK" button at the bottom.
If you've done all that correctly, you should be able to see the "Local Settings" folders.

This can be caused by the use of a no-cd patch by one of the players.

If that doesn't work, turning off events seems to work.

So there's a problem with events synching in MP? Do we know which events might be causing it? (Would be easy to go in and put a script telling the event not to fire if the game is being played in MP mode....)Originally posted by snoopy369

I'm not sure, I think it is solved but Bhruic could tell you that better. I know that 3.13 causes OOSs when events are enabled; I don't know if clearing the cache fixes this particular issue with it or not.
It causes an OOS on game start, and then sometimes when events fire after that. Always on the same 2 people, and it's always 2 people (no matter how many are playing). So if 8 are playing, 2 will OOS with the other 6. With a 2 player game I have no idea (apparently 1 goes out with the other).

Having the regular out-of-synchers do clean installs cleared it up for the diplogame people.
Not everyone ended up affected.
Me.
cheers lads, much appreciate your valued input

It's in the Custom games menu -- just check the box marked "No Random Events".Originally posted by Addled Platypus

You clear the cache by holding 'shift' down on startup... unless there's more that I'm not aware of.
Uninstalling/reinstalling may not clear it, so hold down shift as you start just in case.

In that optic, if I want to pursue the game I am playing right now, but I can't uncheck the Events options when I load up the save, what can I do ? Is there any way to unactivate this option ?

Absent some sort of hack of the savegame file (or, I suppose, removing CIV4EventTriggerInfos.xml from the \Assets\XML\Events path -- though I don't know for sure if the game will load properly without that file, so for the love of god I take no responsibility for any game devastation that occurs if you try that idea,) you can only enable/disable random events at the start up.Originally posted by Niptium
