Just buy it when it comes out. If the date is at all accurate, you'll have time.
I'd say retail stores are usually fastest/most reliable anyway

I'm flying to the Philippines Dec 4 and I absolutely MUST have a copy with me.![]()
Ideas?

he lives in a small town in the philappines, that may not be possible.
I'd fly to Thailand and get a pirated copy.
Manila would probably have it. that may be cheaper to fly (or can you take a boat to it) to.
Sounds like he'll be in the states before thatI'm flying to the Philippines Dec 4![]()

From what I've heard from a friend, it's not like it used to be.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

Give me your address (pm) and I can mail it to you from Singapore when you get to Philipines.
at a charge of course![]()
be free

That reminds me, is Firaxis going to release Civ4 worldwide on the same day?
If they don't... they better not complain and whinge if they lose sales.
LOTS of people won't wait to play what America can play months before the rest of the world can.
be free

Climb into a time machine.
Fly to one point in time after Dec. 4. 2005,
preferably at some spatial location near a large game store.
Buy the game.
Fly back to now.
And of course, donīt forget to buy and bring back a second copy of Civ IV for myself.![]()

Or even better:
Buy an extra copy and go back to 2001 and give it to Firaxis.![]()

The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. - Zephaniah 3:17

Then we'd be on cIV by now and having the same discussion about ciV.

No, we'd have a very good Civ3.And have a c0ompletely different discussion about Civ4.

Good point, unless cIV turns out to be a pile of poo (gods willing it won't), in which case we would be having this same discussion.

1) go back to 2001, sell it to Brian or any Firaxis's competitor, reverse engineer it and rename it as "Time of Civilizations" (sort of)
2) enjoy the large pile of money you make, living in a great place of your choice...

If you did manage to go back to 2001, you wouldn't be able to play it anyway, as not many people (apart from the rich ones) back then had the specs to run games this advanced. So in fact the game would lose alot of it's qualities as it would be dumbed down for a 2001 audience.
EDIT: I hate when you post the same thing at the same time as someone else. Ah, well.

This is no problem, you just buy a good machine together with the game, and bring that one too.![]()

to answer his question, i'd say: get a job working for a magazine that has high standards and only reviews final builds of games, and become a game reviewer for however long it takes to get a copy.
barring that, i'd say terrorism seems to be a trendy fad to get what you want.

Exactly! Better than this, you can buy *two* good machine and sell the spare one to AMD or INTEL.Originally posted by Nikolai

They can't have the 90nm production process ready in 2001, still they can save lot of R&D, IMHO, and pay good money for this. Anyone remember the movie "Terminator"?
And BTW, no software publisher ever let game performance to stop them publishing a game.

Since time machines haven't been invented...I guess I'll go with buying it at the store. Maybe I'll reserve a copy.

Couldn't your future you just use a time machine to go back in time and give your present you Civ4 (with all expansions of course) and then he goes back to the future?![]()
