A multiplayer demo would be real nice, and i think it would get a lot of people intrested. A really great RTS game i played called Conquest: Fronteir Wars had a multiplayer demo where you got to play the FULL multiplayer experience, the only limit was that you only got to play 1 or 3 races. The computer could play the other races but you only could pick one. They could do the same thing with RON.
Of course simply releasing the tutorials as a demo (I.E. AoK and MTW) would be nice to see before the may-20. Then after maybe we'd see a 2 nation multiplayer demo (with limited options and maps) released."I just nuked some poor bastard still in the Enlightenment age. that radioactive mushroom cloud sure enlightened his ass."

Knowing BR history with demos there might be a lot included. Wish SMAC he released a demo where everything was there except you could only play the first 50 turns (that might be wrong). He said later that they were able to get a lot of bugs out of the game due to the demo and the things found by the many people it was in front of. So the hope being that this would continue with a large amount in front of us in the demo release.About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. firaxis has kind of regretted is as there was lots of piracy due to that kind of demo (and probably led them not to make a civ3 demo)Wish SMAC he released a demo where everything was there except you could only play the first 50 turns (that might be wrong)Co-Founder, Apolyton Civilization Site

yap...if u have the whole code released there is always someone who can hack and crack it. only way to prevent priracy from a demo like that would simply not release all the code that is needed to play (ie. some features will just have to be not compiled in.) Software limits is too vulnerable. Are you down with ODV?

irrelevant. it might be a success in the sense of tracking down bugs and helping for less problems in the out-of-the-box version, but there was lots of piracy....But BR said in one interview that he was happy with the results and it helped them get a lot of bugs outCo-Founder, Apolyton Civilization Site

From what I know, demos aren't exactly easy to create. While it may seem like just taking a few missions, and throwing it together, it actually takes more then that. If they had made a demo, that would mean less people working on the game, and it would take longer. Also, they would want the demo to be the final build, so they could make sure it was flawless. So, I'm speculating here, a demo would probably come after the game's release.
