Anyone know if there’s any swordsman other than samurai?? I ask because I haven’t seen any Roman Centurions or foot soldiers from the Middle Ages. So does anyone have any info??

Swordsmen

well what i found out is that you cant build pikes and swords at the same time... just take a look at the bhg picture rohag gave us...
the blue civ only have swords.
the red civ only have spears.

THAT SUCKS!

Or Viking, whoever was playing in that game researched pikemen, while the other researed swordsmen. Or one is better on the attack while the other is better in defense.

There could be a ton of reasons for this screen shot. The least of which is that you can't build both at the same time. There would not be a reason to implement that hard rule in the game.

how come the heavy infantry line consist of pikemen. and in certain occasions, swordsmen.

if they wanted to give a civ a swordsman as a unique unit, they would put it in the swordsman line right?

I suspect that there is another infantry unit line besides light and heavy that consists of swordsmen and other close-range units.

...there will be a swordsman line,becuase they are much suited to fight against spearmen.or maybe they are archers but switch to swords when spearmen close in who knows...

if u talking about the speamen near the button and the swordsmen near the top of the screen on the red force. the swordmens are a unique unit for the Germans. and the spearmen are likely of the light infantry line ie) javelineers

ya the blue swordsmen could also be a unique unit....

as of yet i have not heard any official recognition of a separate swordmen line that is separate from the pikemens ...so far all news points to a single heavy infantry line that includes both. with some UU's being swordsmens instead of pikemen


also are u sure those red swordsmen are landsknechkts? they look like the babarian unit with clothing on, so maybe they could be the german vandals UU? landsknechkts from the research ive done do not look like that, they have these puffy shirts and stuff.
