    IGN has a new unit showcase listing the information for the Heavy Cavalry, Bowmen and Light Warships.



    Heavy Cavalry:
    Cataphracts to Knight to Heavy Knight to Cuirassier

    Bowmen:
    Bowmen to Archers to Crossbowmen then to gunpowder units

    Light Warships:
    Dromon to Caravel to Sloop to Destroyer to Cruiser to Missile Cruiser

    Other units mentioned in the article:
    Fireships
    Hoplites
    Pikemen
    Light Tank
    Tank
    Main Battle Tank
    Anti Tank Rifle Line of units (Civ 3 could use these...)

      Musketeer and Arquebusier go with the bowmen line.

      Light Tank, Tank, and Main Battle Tank go with the heavy calvary line.

      The rest are mentioned as units that will give you problems or ones that you should have no trouble with.

        Does anyone know how payment is going to work? Do we only have to upgrade in a building for the new technology or do we have to do that in addition to paying for each unit? Whichever way it is will impact strategy greatly.

          IIRC (and understand your question correctly) the units upgrade automatically when you gain tech - which I like, removes alot of tediousness... and negates having warriors running around with mech infantry.

            Yeah, I understand that, I am just wondering if, then, the cost to upgrade to that tech is greater based on the number of units that would then be upgraded.
