"A person cannot approach the divine by reaching beyond the human. To become human, is what this individual person, has been created for.” Martin Buber
OK, Brian said in the Apolyton interview that they were currently planning on 2002 release and that he didn't want to tell about it too early.
Question:
When should BHG tell theire next game?
Compare to Firaxis recent titels:
- CivIII (known name - at once)
- Sim Golf (~½ year brfore release - i assume it will be a q4/01 release).
- Sid Dino (very early - project didn't finnish)
So by telling too early it might bee that all interest have faded before release (Or project is buried for some reason) and on the other hand if telling too late, nobody might even notice the game when released. (Of course best ad is satisfied customer, like in EU)
Some info now would be nice, but if I got it I would just cry for info more very soon. (Assumption: I like the idea)
I think about half a year is about what they should do.
Games take a long time to develop. Unless it is a title you know you are going to finish I always believe you should wait until you are sure. So I think Brian is wise to wait until about Christmas to release information about a game coming out in 2002.
The problem with this is that games usually want to be pushed at E3 and the other summer gaming confrences which means that BHG would have to release their new strategy game in the fall and announce in the spring.
