  • Brian clarifies about Gamecenter

(yes, yet another thread about Brian but I think it deserves it)

We got a mail from Brian Reynolds on the Gamecenter interview. He said that the "I don't want to discuss why I left. Things happened between Sid [Meier] and Jeff [Briggs] that I don't think need to be discussed" was not exactly accurate.
    What Brian actually said was
    quote:

"It just didn't work out for me with Jeff and Sid, and I'm really more interested in discussing what I'm going to be doing in the future, which
    I'm very excited about"

(which obviously has a better tone, doesnt it?)

Anyway, Brian considers the parting "considerably more amicable" than what it has been presented so far.

As for the future, he said
    quote:

I'm not ready to discuss what my future plans are yet, but I'm really excited about them and I look forward to sharing them with you later on!

Aww! Does that mean that BR is not a victim of the vast Briggs-Meier war?

      Dear Brian,

For what it's worth (and coming from me, do the math ), I don't think you've been getting half the credit you deserve. Frankly, I'm really looking forward to seeing you do your own and not have a game YOU made have "Sid Meier's blah blah blah" printed all over it. Oh, I understand the marketing, but those days are thankfully over for you.

      Sincerely,

      Yin

the more things break up, the more possibilities appear...

the only question would be the quality of any games that come out. and i'm not going to doubt brian there. nor do i believe firaxis are going to let civ 3 go to the dogs. it means too much to them.

i'm not going to turn down another TBS game on the market. it just means i'll have more choice as to where i spend my gaming dollars.
