The poll I started has made me do some checking an surfing and this si what I have found:
in high colour mode I get 37 FPS in undiscovered areas of the map and 15 FPS where I have buildings
in true color mode I get 20 FPS in undiscovered areas of the map and 10 FPS where I have buildings.
I have done a google search and have picked up some threads on improving framerates. Biggest improvements come from "switching AA to off"
What the ??? Ok more searching. I think AA stands for "anti-aliasing mode" and it seems to effect graphics performance from what I can find. Every post said turn it off or turn it on
HOW???!!!!
I can't find any reference in software or hardware to anti-aliasing. Is this an XP function and not win(which I am running?).
Someone who knows please post how to change it and on what systems you can change it (step by step please - I'm old and slow).
Thanks
