problem with patch

Im having problems installing the patch. it gets almost all the way there then comes up with errior signs and then the game doesnt play anymore and I have to reinstall what could be the prob ?

Have you tried downloading the patch manually (riseofnations.com)?

No that doesnt help It comes up saying somthing like invalid patch tipe. How do you tell what game you hAVE. iM IN AUSTRALIA
