  • Hod do u set CTW to one age?

I want to run be able to run the CTW campaign on just one age, besides the origional start. So far I have read how to alter the number of turns per age. I attempted to alter the number of turns per age once I reached the one I wanted....but it didn't work. It appears to be locked into its settings once you start it.

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping it would be CTW specific, but overwritting isn't a big deal either.

Well that wasn't the ticket.....any other ideas? It still goes from classical to Medieval regardless of the tribe mask or the age order. There must be another set of rules the CTW game is following which I can not locate.

There's no way that you can change the number of turns per age on a game in progress... just start a new game, depending on the difficulty it's not too hard to get back to wherever you are. On a 9 turns per age game, I was able to conquer the entire earth before Gunpowder, simply because I positioned myself right next to the capitals of allied and peaceful nations. This was on Moderate, and I only lost one battle against a capital and a supporting allied army.

I'm wondering, however, how you can keep the world from going into the classical age after the first turn. I haven't actually checked the xml files, mind you, I've only gone so far to find out how to change the number of turns per age.

I think my question wasn't clear enough on this subject. I am trying to figure out how to run the game on just one age. ie; modern from start to finish, or from the 2nd round till the end. I understand how to adjust the turns per age. Its not a matter of strategy which I am wanting to learn, but a note on modding the files.

The results so far have been an odd mix of units in the Medieval age. My hvy infantry, scouts, and light cavalry were all modern age units. I still had pike men and archers. It was quite funny actually. I didn't play the round, instead I went back reset those files I messed with.

If you do figure something out, do post your solution here. This question, or similar variations, seem to be coming up quite often.
