Quick Game Crash When Re-load Saved Game

Hello one and all from the Great White North! I have been enjoying the game, but enough with the small talk. I have a fast PC with all the bells and whistles.

In Quick Battle:
1. I will save.
2. After a few seconds I pause and reload the last save.
3. The game crashes.
4. I can only play the game by rebooting my PC.

I have reinstalled Direct X; graphics driver; second patch; and the game. I stop all programs running in the background including my virus protetor and firewall. The game continues to crash as described.

There is a workaround however. If I let the game continue for about a minute, I can successfully reload at the last save.

So, not a very big deal. Just aggravating when I forget to do the work-around, reload and CRASH.

As I am the new kid on the block, I regret to have taken up your time if this issue has already been adressed.

By the way, anyone here from The Angle or Greatest Battles?

Are these saved CtW battles? (it seems not, as you can load them later). I'll start RoN and see if it does that for me, too. Otherwise, maybe some specs would help BHG (in case it's not a global problem).
