PATCH problems

I have installed the latest patch several times (after getting it off of Gamespy through a multiplayer linkup and also downloading it from the official RoN site.)

I can not get the patch to work. After it completes it's installation I get an error when next attempting to start up the game. It says: 'Please insert the correct CD-ROM, select OK and restart the application' which I have done several times.

I got my copy of this game off of Ebay. It is a genuine retail-copy of the game, but it was origionally sold in the PRC (people's republic of china). Is this the reason the patch isn't working? The patch is supposed to be international, but is it not compatable with my copy?

when updating any games the main file that gets changed is the "game_name.exe" file, in this case nations.exe

chances are your copy of the game has had a no cd patch to run the game. But once you updated it the .exe, it retured to its default setting of expecting a cd to be used.

Im guessing that to solve this problem you wanna look for a no cd crack for the exact version of the game you have, try google and serach for somehitng like

"rise of nations" "(version number)" "NO CD crack"

if you cant find any, let me know the details of which version of the game you have, and i'll try and find a crack for ya
