  • Diplomacy in Single Player Quick Battles

    Hello,

I've just purchased this game, and have played one CTW game as the Romans straight through as a test run - superlative experience - I can't say enough good things about this game from what I've experienced thus far (I'm a fan of such games as Dune 2000, Civ II, III, Europa Universalis I and II (which is worthy of coverage on this site, although Paradox has excellent forums), Total War, etc., and RON is a great amalgam of them all, imo - of real time elements, mixed with turn based historical strategy - great stuff), and I've decided to venture on and try out a quick battle game with custom settings.

Which brings me to my question: in the one particular quick battle game that I tried, I had the diplomatic setting turned to on, and the AI opponents were throughout the game were declaring war and attempting to make peace with me; but I could find no button or shortcut with which to conduct diplomatic manevours with them....is there such an option for the quick battle games?

    Thanks!

The dilplomacy window can be brought up by pressing a button with the reef (spelling?) - (the red button) above the mini map. Alternitively press F9

If you have the diplomacy mini-stats displayed (on the lower right-hand side of your screen...I think it's the default display for diplomacy games), you can also initiate talks with any nation by simply clicking on their name.
