  • Turn off Armageddon Clock?

Has anyone managed to turn off the Armageddon Clock? A few friends and myself were looking forward to a strategic nuclear war

    Hi Kibbles,

Rise of Nations/data/rules; click and right-click to access Notepad via View Source (be sure to save when finished)
On down one-third in file, find ARMAGEDDON value followed with five more lines of code pertaining thereto.

Options: Raise ARMAGEDDON value, this increases the overall game use of nukes before the 'clock' is tripped.
For instance I arbitratorily raised mine to 40.

Another: Raise the PER NATION value and the PER TEAM value. Again I did it 10 and 20 respectively. (This is 5x or10x the default settings I believe)

Another option: Dramatically increase the 'clock' time by adding 'zeros' to the NUKE EMBARGO BASE code lines found as 'x number of frames'.

I actually do not know that these lines are the so-called 'Armageddon Clock' as I have not game tested this area at all.

On another note about losing ones garrisoned units in a failing fort or tower. I think your idea of percentage loss is good, however not having yet explored the code pertaining thereto I would not be able to confirm its feasibility.

Thanks for the help Antrine, I think we have it figured it out based on what you told me. I also took the liberty of decreasing the blast radius of the Nuclear Missle, and making the ICBM have a radius nearly four times it normal with an attack of 16000. To balance this, we've changed it so that it costs five times more to build and takes three times as long. Going to test it tonight.

As for the percentage of units lost in a destroyed building, I am trying to work out a way to implement a random percentage greater than 50%.

        Hi all, first post here.
Just got RON and ive got to say i love it, just that it could be a bit better. Been looking and playing the changes that people have posted, they rock.
Kibbles is there any chance you could post those files on the changed nukes and Icbms. (thats if they worked)
        Thanks

            The file is unitrules.xml
Located about 3/4 of the page down is the rules for the Nuclear ICBM and Nuclear Missile. The Flag (is that the right term?) is splash followed by the number.

I havnt been doing to much modding the rules files of as date, been to busy and sick. So I cant tell you if this will work.

Post if you manage to get something working.
