RoN Crashes to desktop after setting resolution to 1280x1024 32-bit

RoN crashes to the desktop when I try to change the resolution in the game to 1280x1024 @ 32-bit. RoN runs fine at 1024x768 32-bit. I have the latest drivers for the video card installed. I had the desktop resolution set to 1400X1050 32-bit when I first tried changing the resolution in the game. I then changed my desktop resolution to 1280X1024 32-bit and tried again, still crashed back to the desktop.

Equipment specs below:

Computer: Dell Latitude C610 Notebook
Video Card: ATI Radeon Mobility, 16 MB
Operating System: Windows 2000
RAM: 256 MB
Processor: Mobile Pentium III 1.2 Ghz

The game is a lot of fun to play, but I wouldn't mind being able to pay it at the higher resolution.

Anyone else experiencing similar problems? Any help would be appreciated.

I am at 2.2 GHz with 512 Meg RAM and a 32 Meg Nvidia GeForce4 440 Go and the best resolution I can get is 1024 x 768 x 16 with acceptable frame rate at least. You are doing much better than average, sounds like to me.

I installed the second patch and I still have the same problem. BUMP!
