Finally solved my problems running RoN.

Did everything I could think of with no luck, then finally good fortune smiled.

It ended up that my Asus motherboard had it's voltage settings off (both on my AGP card and CPU.) May not help anyone else, but I've gotten it going and it's quite sweet.

Now to improve on the CtW map.

AMD 2600+
ASUS A7N8X Delux
512 Corsair DDR
Yada yada, etc. etc., ad naseum.

i have the same mboard, have never changed voltage settings, but am curious what your new settings are...

of course this still doen't explainn why ONLY RoN is problem-prone...

No, it doesn't. But nothing else worked in my case.

I set the CPU to 1.65v from 1.60 and the AGP from 1.6 to 1.7.

So small they shouldn't have done anything, ime. Yet all the problems I was having are long gone.

Now for my mod CtW map.
